The Angel Oak Tree is thought to be one of the oldest living things in the USA. The land where the Angel Oak Tree stands was part of Abraham Waight's 1717 land grant. The City of Charleston now owns the property. This is a favorite stop when visiting family in the area. The tree is so big, you can't do it justice with a single image. It is quite inspiring just to stand beneath it and to be surrounded by its size, age, beauty, and endurance. And adding to its beauty is the covering of Resurrection fern, (Pleopeltis polypodioides).
